Year-Round Skincare Tips

Gorgeous glowing skin can make all the difference in your appearance. And once you’re able to achieve it, you’ll find yourself spending less time and money on makeup products because you won’t want to or need to anymore. There are a few different things you can do all year round to try and get a close to flawless, regardless if it’s a chilly winter day or hot summer one.

Don’t use soap that is too drying

We know it can feel squeaky clean when you wash your face and your skin is a bit tight, but once you get to that point, it means that you have stripped away a tad too much moisture. Find that perfect balance with cleansers that clean away dirt without drying you out.

Be gentle when it comes to exfoliating

Harsh scrub will do more harm than good to your skin. That’s why when you exfoliate, you want to be very gentle about it. Choose a scrub that won’t tear away at your skin or opt for a washcloth to loosen and wipe away the grime in your pores. If you opt for the latter, try a material like bamboo, muslin, or silk.

Water

You knew this one was coming! Water, water, water. We highly recommend drinking water before anything else in the morning. After hours of sleep and no liquids, your body will be feeling a bit dehydrated when you wake up. Drinking water is a fantastic way to start the day. And to make sure you always have water readily available, a reusable water bottle is a great buy. We suggest buying a couple in case one is dirty and you don’t have time to wash it. This way, you will always have a bottle to fill up and run out the door with.

Remove your makeup

It can be tempting to just go right to bed when you’re super tired, but if you have a face full of makeup, be sure to clean it all off first. While leftover eye makeup can cause eye irritation, products like lipsticks, foundations, and more can cause clogged pores, which then lead to blackheads and pimples. If you’re too tired to do your normal nighttime skincare routine, try and at least clean off the makeup you have on your face with a wipe, cleansing oil, facial cleanser, cleansing water, or even coconut oil.

Sunscreen

We don’t care if the sky is covered in clouds or if we will be sitting in an office all day. Daily sunscreen is a non-negotiable for us. While makeup products that contain SPF are great, we still feel the need to make sunscreen a part of our morning routine. This way we know that it’s there and done with.
