Life is hard. We’re not sugarcoating anything. Between work, family, finances and even social media, it like we are constantly being bombarded. It’s definitely important to take care of your body, mind, and soul so that you are prepared to take each new day on. Here are some easy tips for everyday wellness. Try them out for a week and see how you feel!
- Make Sure to Get Enough Sleep
Whether your magic number is 5 hours or 9 hours, just do it. Not only will you feel better, but you will definitely be more proactive about your day and accomplish tasks more efficiently. If you’re like me and have issues falling asleep, a good sleep mask does wonders.
2. Put Your Phone Away
For an hour each day, during your non-work hours, ignore your cell phone. Hide it, turn it off, whatever, I don’t care. It’s good to disconnect from texts and social media for a bit each day. Spend it with your family or read a good book.
Not by phone, not by text, not by Facebook. Meet a friend face-to-face in person and grab a bite to eat or a drink. It’s really revitalizing to have human contact that doesn’t involve work.
4. Don’t Eat & Work at the Same Time
If you don’t have a serious deadline coming up, close your laptop and give your attention to your meal. You’ll not only enjoy your food a lot more, and won’t mindlessly eat, but your brain will get a nice break so that you are refreshed to finished the rest of your work day.
5. Drink Coffee or Caffeinated Tea
Not only will you get a bit of a boost, but caffeine in small doses can increase your metabolism and make you more aware. Different types have different physical benefits so choose away. Bonus is that the ritual of drinking hot coffee or tea can also be very soothing.
