Dairy-Free Alternatives To Your Favorite Dairy Products

Dairy-Free Alternatives To Your Favorite Dairy Products

Ever thought about going dairy-free? Some people report feeling physically better when giving up dairy products that are milk-based. Interested in taking the plunge yourself? There are actually a good amount of dairy-free products out there that are comparable to the real thing. The only downside is that they may be slightly more expensive than the real dairy counterpart. Keep in mind that to notice changes to how you feel, you should make this dietary change for at least two weeks.

Silk Soy Yogurt

This yogurt is incredibly creamy for a non-dairy option. There is a very light hint of soy flavor, but otherwise, really feels and tastes like dairy yogurt. The peach mango is a must try!

Miyokos Vegan Cheese

It’s going to be love at first bite when you try this brand of cheese. Crafted in Sonoma, California, the genius behind these delicious vegan cheeses is Chef Miyoko Schinner. There is everything from a double cream chive round to a winter truffle French-style cheese.

Endangered Species Chocolate

While not all of the products are dairy-free, this food-for-a-cause company does have a variety of dairy-free chocolate that is fantastic. The dark chocolate bar with almonds and peanuts is one of our favorites!

Silk Unsweetened Coconut Milk

It mixes well with coffee and tastes great with cereal. The company also makes a sweetened version if you prefer something with a bit of cane sugar. It reminds us of fat-free milk with a touch of coconut flavor.

Earth Balance Butter

Wonderfully creamy and spreadable, Earth Balance butter is so darn good. We love it so much that we even spread it on saltines just so that we can find a reason to eat it and enjoy the buttery taste and mouthfeel.

Looking to really dive into a dairy-free lifestyle? Then you must head over to GoDairyFree.org. The site has a ton of information from product reviews to a shopping guide that is extremely helpful if you don’t know if a particular ingredient is dairy derived or not. There are even recipes on how to make items like mozzarella, cheesecake parfaits, and pasta dishes with absolutely no dairy.
